Welcome to Hey Honeybee Company, your place to get local, hand-collected, raw, unfiltered, honey.  Here at HHBC, we are a father and son family operation, and we love our bees; all 300,000 of them.  They are an addition to our family and community and we take pride in making sure that they receive the care and attention these special little creatures deserve.  When we started beekeeping, it was to promote honeybee conservation and pollination in our backyard, nestled in the heart of Atlanta, GA, next to the city’s largest green space, the historic Piedmont Park.  This little hobby grew into a passion and eventually blossomed into a small, local, honey business.  As our love for these special insects flourished, so did the number of beehives that we take care of: from two colonies to over thirty.  Over the years and of growth, our goal still remains the same: we strive to educate our neighbors and the world community about the importance of honeybees and their role as pollinators.   We look forward to seeing you around and promoting the importance of pollinators while providing delicious, healthy, honey to honey-lovers from all around.

As our love for these special insects flourished, so did the number of beehives that we take care of: from two colonies to over thirty.

Our hives are situated in some of Atlanta’s most well-known historic neighborhoods: Ansley Park, Buckhead, Brookhaven, Druid Hills, Morningside, Tuxedo Park, and Virginia-Highlands.  We partner with friendly neighborhood hosts that allow hives to be placed in their yards, gardens, and green spaces: giving our hosts daily entertainment and abundant pollination while giving our bees the resources they need to thrive.  Spacing out the bee hives around the city allows for genetic diversity amongst the bee colonies, as well as a giving the bees access to a wide variety of pollens and nectars.  This variety of nectar and pollen gives our honey a truly unique color and flavor each time that we collect throughout the season.   We don’t know much about the next batch of honey that our bees collect until we begin to harvest.  It isn’t until we begin extracting that we can see, taste, touch and smell this special treat that our bees so eagerly provide.  It is such a stimulating experience for the senses. We promise that all of our honey will be delicious, unlike anything you can buy in the store.  We focus on bringing you the freshest local honey: from our hives to your hands.
